答：嚴格而言，18 hours service最好改為18 hours of service或18 hours' service。不過，18 hours service也不算錯。
隨便一點的英文，有時會把撇號（apostrophe）略去。例如有些公司名稱就用老闆的姓名，其後加上's，以示為其所有，所以著名拍賣行蘇富比叫Sotheby's，英國巴克萊銀行叫Barclay's Bank，哈羅德百貨公司叫Harrod's等。而巴克萊銀行和哈羅德百貨公司現在一般都寫作Barclays Bank和Harrods，把撇號略去了。
說維持一段時間的活動，英文也會在那段時間之後用撇號，例如「十小時的工作」是ten hours' work，「五天的假期」是five days' holiday，「兩年的研究」是two years' research等。而那撇號今天有時也會略去，例如ten hours work、five days holiday、two years research等。不過，假如那時間單位是單數，則必須加's，例如an hour's work（一小時的工作）、a day's holiday（一天的假期）、a year's research（一年的研究）等。假如不用撇號，改用of也可以，即ten hours of work、five days of holiday、a year of research等。
