Churchill enjoyed painting in his spare time. Asked why he chose to paint landscapes rather than portraits, he replied, "Because no tree has ever complained about its likeness."
One of Churchill's bodyguards also enjoyed painting. He showed a few of his canvases to Churchill, who was quite impressed. "They are much better than mine," he remarked. "But yours will have to be judged on merit."

The photographer who had been photographing Churchill on his eightieth birthday said courteously that he hoped he would photograph him on his hundredth.
"I don't see why not, young man," said Churchill. "You look reasonably fit to me."

邱吉爾說：「小夥子，這個沒有問題。你看來還壯健呢。」
