答：這位讀者誤會了。曾偉雄是說：「我認為，以『有無武器』判斷『有無暴力行為』，並不是個好主意。」所以，黑社會持刀棒襲擊和平集會民眾，曾偉雄警隊不視為暴行；和平民眾用保鮮紙裹面強捱胡椒噴霧，則視為「暴力衝擊警方防線」。曾偉雄真不愧香港警賊之首。
問：「不識時務」英文怎麼說？
答：「識時務」本來是指「了解時代趨勢」，是個褒詞；但現在往往也用來說「隨波逐流，重私利而輕原則」，有貶義。英文成語to know / see which way the wind blows即「知道／觀察風向」，那「風向」當然是比喻時勢；此外，to know which side one's bread is buttered即「知道麵包哪一面塗了牛油」，比喻「重視利益所在」。這兩句成語，都可以用來翻譯「（不）識時務」，例如：（1）If Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu had known which way the wind blew, he would not have been executed（羅馬尼亞獨裁者壽西斯古不是不識時務，最後就不會遭處決）。（2）Soon after the June 4 massacre, Leung Chun-ying turned his back on the democracy movement.
