答：Not...until是「直到……才會」的意思，切勿解作「直到……都不會」，例如：The communists won't rest satisfied until they have reduced the people to slaves（到他們把人民都變成奴隸的時候，共產黨才會心滿意足）。讀者示下的第一句，就是說「我到星期一才會上班」。
第二句意思則較難確定，因為（from...）to / until這說法，頗為含糊，例如The library will be closed from 1 October to / until 3 October（圖書館十月一日至十月三日暫停開放）這一句，「暫停開放」時間包不包括十月三日，並不清楚。要清楚表示包括十月三日，英式英語可說from 1 October to 3 October inclusive，美式則可說from 1 October through 3 October。
