答：那段英譯，文法錯誤百出，拙欄限於篇幅，謹以一句為例：「下圖為倪生位於寶馬山道的居所賽西湖大廈The below photo is Braemar Hill Mansions in North Point once Mr Ni lived in。」中文應是說倪匡現居賽西湖大廈，英文則說他「曾經」在賽西湖大廈卜居。哪個說法正確，我不知道。
論英文，below、following都是指「以下的」，但below是副詞（adverb），須用在所修飾名詞之後；following則是形容詞，可用在名詞之前，例如：Read the sentence below / Read the following sentence（請讀以下句子）。「下圖」不可說the below photo。
又中文可以說「下圖為該大廈」，英文卻不可直譯作The photo below is the mansion，因為這等於說「照片」本身即是該大廈，正如The man is the cat等於說「那個人就是那隻貓」。此外，用once說「曾經」，那once通常用在動詞之前，或be（即is、were等）之後，例如：（1）He once worked here（他曾經在這裏工作）。（2）He was once very rich（他曾經十分富有）。貿易發展局那一句的once，置於Mr Ni之前，十分不自然。
全句可改寫如下：Shown in the photo below is Braemar Hill Mansions, North Point, where Mr Ni once lived。假如倪匡現在還住在那裏，則once lived當然須改為lives。
