OneofBell'sstudentsfilledupnotebookswithexamplesofwhathecalledBell's"eerietrickofspottingdetails."Thisstudenteventuallywentintopractice.Whenbusinesswasslowhefilledhissparemomentsbywritingstories.Theyoungdoctor,ArthurConanDoyle,gaveBell'spowersofperceptiontoacharacterwhowastobecomefiction'sgreatestdetective:SherlockHolmes.
