致所有球員：
今天在執行委員會和球員代表一致投票通過下，球員工會將放棄代表你們的集體談判權。取而代之，我們將會以商會形式協助及支持NBA球員，但我們將不會再參加與NBA球隊班主的集體談判。球員工會將會致力支持NBA球員維護你們的非勞工權利，免除你們在尋找新球隊上受任何非法的限制。
在兩年半時間及超過50次的談判的期間，我們在談判桌上嘗試向班主爭取公平的勞工協議。上周，在又一個最後通牒下：一個充滿長期不平等條款的最後提案，NBA總裁史坦和班主沒有給我們選擇的餘地，我們亦已用盡了勞工法許可的權利，繼續再討論下去只會對球員無益。在沒有工會的情況下，我們衷心希望NBA立刻結束它的非法杯葛以及開始2011/12球季。如果班主選擇繼續他們現時的行動，我們認為他們有明顯的壟斷傾向。
今天的決定並非輕率而下，而且會造成巨大的後果，球員工會將會協助球員維護勞工法以外的權益，並且改善所有NBA職業球員的工作環境。

Today,byunanimousvoteoftheexecutivecommitteeandplayerrepresentatives,theNationalBasketballPlayersAssociationdisclaimeditsstatusasyourcollectivebargainingrepresentative.Asaresult,wewillnowfunctionasatradeassociationtoassistandsupportNBAplayers,butwewillnolongerengageincollectivebargainingwiththeNBAowners.ThePlayersAssociationwillinsteaddedicateitselftosupportingindividualNBAplayersintheassertionofyournon-laborrightstobefreeofanyillegalrestrictionsoncompetitionforyourservices.
Fortwoandahalfyearsandthroughmorethan50collectivebargainingsessions,wesatatthetableandattemptedtonegotiateafairlaboragreementwiththeowners.Lastweek,withtheissuanceofyetanotherultimatum-atakeitorleaveitfinalofferofalong-termagreementwithunacceptableterms-CommissionerSternandtheownersleftuswithnootheroption.Ithasbecomecleartousthatwehaveexhaustedourrightsunderthelaborlaws,andcontinuinginthatforumwouldnotbeinthebestinterestsoftheplayers.Withnolaborunioninplace,itisoursincerehopethattheNBAwillimmediatelyenditsnowillegalboycottandfinallyopenthe2011-12season.Individualteamsarefreetonegotiatewithfreeagentsforyourservices.
Today'sdecisionwasnotmadelightlyandholdsenormousconsequences,theNBPAwillalwaysbeheretoassistindividualplayersinassertingyourrightsoutsideofthelaborlawsandtoimprovebusinessconditionsofallprofessionalbasketballplayersintheNBA.14.11.2011
