答：Relation、relations、relationship三字都可譯作「關係」。說事物的關係，用relation或relationship都可以，例如：（1）Isthereanyrelation/relationshipbetweenpovertyandcrime?（貧窮和罪惡有沒有關係？）（2）Whatistherelation/relationshipbetweenwealthandhealth?（財富和健康有什麼關係？）
說血緣、婚姻或感情關係，應用relationship，例如：（1）Thereisnobloodrelationshipbetweenthem（他們之間沒有血緣）。（2）Itissaidthattheyarehavingarelationship（據說他們有情慾關係）。
說人、國家等的交往或相處，則應用relations，例如：（1）Relationsbetweenthetwocountrieshaveimproved（兩國的關係好轉）。（2）Hisrelationswithhischildrenwereneververygood（他和兒女的關係向來不很好）。「公共關係」當然就是publicrelations。
留意成語bearno/little/somerelationto（和……沒有/甚少/有些關係）和in/withrelationto（關於）的relation，都不可改為relationship，例如：（1）Hesaidnothinginrelationtoyourproposal（他沒有談及你的建議）。（2）Hisplanborelittlerelationtoours（他的計劃，和我們的沒有什麼關係）。
