問：「我也是」英文為什麼說Metoo而不是Itoo？
答：隨便的口語，說到「我」、「我也是」等，一般會用me這樣的受格（objectform）代名詞，因為獨立使用時，比主格（subjectform）代名詞順口，例如：（1）"Whobrokethevase""Him（=Hedid）."（「花瓶是誰打破的？」「是他。」）（2）"Isawhim.""Metoo（=SodidI）."（「我見到他。」「我也見到。」）Hedid和SodidI則當然是正式說法。
問：英文勘誤練習的答案說，Shewasevensmallerthanhim（她比他還矮小）一語，him應改為he，並說Ilikethedogmorethanhe和morethanhim不同。究竟不同在哪裏？
答：「她比他還矮小」英文全寫是Shewasevensmallerthanhewassmall，句末的small一字通常略去，small之前的was文法上也可略去，但Shewasevensmallerthanhe說起來拗口，通常會改為Shewasevensmallerthanhim，約定俗成，今天幾乎沒有人視為錯誤。讀者那個練習未免太過斤斤於文法。
當然，Ilikethedogmorethanhe（likesthedog）和Ilikethedogmorethan（Ilike）him兩句，一是說「我比他更喜歡那隻狗」，一是說「我喜歡那隻狗多於喜歡他」，意思不同。假如會引起誤會，句子就不宜用省略法，例如說Ilikethedogmorethanhedoes（=likesthedog）或IlikethedogmorethanIdo（=like）him。
