問：有些形容詞用在名詞前後都可以，例如theresponsibleperson、thepersonresponsible等。然則ahappyboy可不可改為aboyhappy？
答：形容詞一般都可用在名詞之前，但可以置於名詞之後的，只有responsible、present、involved、concerned、available等等，為數不多。Ahappyboy（快樂的男孩）、asadsmile（憂鬱的微笑）等，當然不可改作aboyhappy、asmilesad等。
留意responsible等字，置於名詞前後，意思會有不同。例如：（1）Heisaresponsiblejournalist（他是個負責任的記者）。（2）Whoisthejournalistresponsiblefortheinvestigation?（負責調查的記者是誰？）（3）Thecommitteememberspresentsupportedtheproposal（在場的委員支持建議）。（4）Thepresentcommitteememberswillbereplacedsoon（目前的委員不久就會被取代）。（5）Ifailedtofollowhisinvolvedargument（他的議論很複雜，我無法明白）。（6）Wediscussedtheproblemsinvolved（我們討論所涉及的問題）。（7）Thevillagersconcernedwerearrested（涉事的村民被捕）。（8）Theconcernedvillagersprotestedagainstthegovernment'slandrequisition（憂心的村民抗議政府徵地）。
不過，available以及和最高級形容詞（superlativeadjective）連用的possible，放在名詞前後，意思都不變，例如：（1）Theavailablemanpower/manpoweravailableislimited（可動用的人力有限）。（2）Thatisthebestpossiblesolution/thebestsolutionpossible（那是最好的解決辦法）。
