OnChristmasDay1941,whenHongKongsurrenderedtotheJapanese,around200drunkenJapaneseapproachedStStephen'sCollege,nowasanctuaryfor96woundedsoldiers.Barringthefrontdoorwastheheadmedic,DrGeorgeBlack."Youcan'tcomeinhere,"hesaid,"thisisahospital."Withdeliberateaim,asoldierraisedhisrifleandshothimthroughthehead.Inthewards,theJapaneserippedthebandagesoffthewoundedpatients,andplungedtheirbayonetsintotheamputatedarmsandlegsbeforefinishingthemoffwithabulletwhilethenursingstafflookedonhelplessly.Thefemalenurseswerethenledaway,toafateonecaneasilyimagine.
SimilaratrocitieswerecommittedatvariouslocationsthroughoutHongKong,includingtherapeofthousandsofwomenandyounggirls.
一九四一年聖誕節，香港向日本投降。那天，約二百個日本士兵醉醺醺走向聖士提反書院，當時院內收容了九十六個傷兵。主管的醫生喬治．布萊克站在前門，攔着那群日本士兵說：「這是醫院，你們不能進去。」一個士兵舉起來福槍，仔細瞄準，一顆子彈射穿了布萊克的頭顱。日本士兵走進病房，把傷者的繃帶扯下來，用刺刀猛插截了肢的手和腿，然後才開槍把傷者打死，護士在旁，束手無策。女護士其後被帶走，下場不難想像。
類似的暴行，香港各地都有發生，包括數以千計的婦人和少女遭強姦。
