先生說「推銷員不得入內」可譯做Noadmittancetosalespersons，那to字有沒有錯？Admittance之後的to，帶出的似應是地方而不是人。
Admittance之後的確可用to帶出地方，例如：Isthereadmittancetothemuseumatnight?（博物館晚上開放嗎？）不過，to的受詞也可以是人。英語學者巴拉斯（RobertBarrass）的學生寫作指南StudentsMustWrite第六章談到贅詞，說Noadmittancetounauthorisedpersonnel（未獲許者勿進）一語宜略作Noadmittance（不得進入），但文法上那累贅說法是沒有錯的。
So和therefore有什麼分別？
So和therefore都可解作「因此」，不過，so的語氣較為隨便，多用於口頭；謹嚴的論理文字則宜用therefore，例如：（1）Hewasill,andso/thereforecouldnotgotoschool（他病了，不能上學）。（2）Ithink,thereforeIam（我思，故我在）。
此外，so習慣用在子句（clause）之前，不可用在名詞或動詞之後，therefore則可以，例如：Hewasill;hethereforecouldnotgotoschool。這一句的therefore不可用so取代。
又so用在形容詞之前，可解作「十分」，所以Hewasambitiousandsohardworking可解作「他有大志，所以十分努力」（=Hewasambitiousandtherefore/so(hewas)hardworking），也可解作「他有大志，而且十分努力」（=Hewasambitiousand(hewas)so/veryhardworking）。假如可能引起誤會，so就應用therefore、very等字取代。
