貴欄日前有以下一句：Onthemorningof28April,aminorofficialmarriedHitlerandBraun（四月二十八日上午，一個低級官員為希特勒和布勞恩主持婚禮）。Onthemorning是不是應改為inthemorning？
只說「早上」或「上午」，themorning的確多用in帶出，而inthemorning也常用來說「明天上午」，例如：（1）Shehasgonetobed.Iwilltellherinthemorning（=Iwilltellhertomorrowmorning她已經就寢，我明天早上告訴她吧）。（2）Childrengotoschoolinthemorning（孩子早上要上學）。
但是，假如說某一個早上，morning一般要用on帶出，例如：（1）Onthemorningofourdeparture,wehadastrangevarietyofweather:rain,hail,snow（我們起程那個上午，天氣有奇怪的變化：下雨，下雹，下雪）。（2）HealwaysstaysinbedlateonSundaymornings（他星期天上午總是很遲才起牀）。Onthemorningof28April的on，不可改為in，就是這個道理。不過，你可以說inthemorningon28April：留意這個說法中的日期用on帶出，不用of。
又afternoon（下午）、evening（傍晚、晚上）二字所用介系詞（preposition），和morning相同，例如：（1）Shegavebirthtoachildontheafternoonof10October/intheafternoonon10October（她十月十日下午生了個孩子）。（2）Hewasrushedtohospitalintheafternoon,anddiedintheevening（他下午緊急送到醫院，到晚上就死了）。
