三個選擇都正確。說「原因」，ground或grounds兩個寫法往往通用，而以grounds比較常見。第六版《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》說這個ground是「可數名詞（countablenoun），常用複數」，恐怕不正確，因為ground或grounds都不可冠以a或an。第三版《牛津高階》說ground是「複數或不可數名詞（uncountablenoun）」，就是這個原故。Grounds之前可以用the，也可不用。中共英語學者葛傳槼的《英語慣用法詞典》說「onthegroundof不可作onthegroundsof」，這話也不正確。第二版《朗文當代高級詞典》就有以下例句：Helefton（the）groundsofillhealth（他因病離去）。
