Butonlyafewsecondslater,Boszaannounced,"Captain,yourislandismoving."
TheradarhaddetectedJapan'saircraftcarrierShinano,builtintheutmostsecrecy.Archerfishfiredsixtorpedoes,andsankShinano,whichwasonly17hoursintohermaidenvoyage.Shinanowasthelargestaircraftcarriereverconstructedbefore1954.
一九四四年十一月二十八日，美國潛艇射水魚號在東京海域巡邏。雷達軍官喬．博斯扎報告說：「三十度角外有雷達信號。」船橋守望官則早已看到了藺灘波島。
船長不以為然的說：「喬，無論你的雷達怎樣偵測，藺灘波島是在六十度角外。」
船橋下傳來恭順的回答：「是，是，船長。」
但不過幾秒鐘之後，博斯扎又說：「船長，你那個藺灘波島在移動。」
雷達偵察到日本絕對保密之下建造的航空母艦信濃號。射水魚號發射了六個魚雷，把信濃號擊沉。信濃號是一九五四年以前建造的最巨型艇空母艦，航行了不過十七小時，處女航就此結束。
