今天年輕一輩不少沒有責任感，例如約定了卻遲到或不到。要說一個人處事沒有交代或有交代，英文怎樣說？
這裏說的「有交代」顯然是指有責任感，英文可按情況譯做responsible、dutiful、dependable、conscientious、trustworthy等，例如：（1）Youngpeopletodayareoftenundependable.Iwon'tbesurprisedifsomeoftheapplicantsdonotkeeptheirinterviewappointments（今天的年輕人很多都不可靠。假如有些申請人約了卻不來面試，我不會感到奇怪）。（2）Heisaveryconscientiousworker,soyoumayrestassuredthattheprojectwillnotgoaray（他做事很有責任感，所以你不必擔心這項工作會出錯）。
「紅色新衣裳」是newreddress還是rednewdress？
答案是newreddress。英文形容詞的排列，一般依照以下次序：評語（nice、terrible等）、大小（big、small等）、新舊（old、new等）、形狀（thin、square等）、顏色（red、yellow等）、出處（British、American等）、材料（silk、silver等）、種類（human、electronic等）、用途（application（form）、surveillance（ship）等）。例如anicebluesilkgown（藍色絲質長袍）、abigsquaretable（方形大桌子）、anAmericanelectronicsurveillanceship（美國電子監察船）。
留意上述形容詞次序有時會改變，例如說年紀，old、young通常就緊貼名詞。「瘦削的老人」是athinoldman，一般不說anoldthinman。又同類形容詞通常是音節（syllable）較少者先行，例如aniceinvigoratingwalk（愜意、令人精神的散步）。
