「不得飲食」是Noeatinganddrinking還是Noeatingordrinking？
上述兩個說法都正確。英文否定句子一般用or帶出不同的事物，例如：（1）Hedidnotsmokeordrink（他不吸煙，不喝酒）。（2）Idon'twanttoseePeterorKate（我不想見彼得、凱蒂）。這樣的句子通常不用and。「不得飲食」一般也是說Noeatingordrinking，但「飲食」有時會當作是同一件事，所以Noeatinganddrinking也有人說，不算錯誤。
MrSo-and-sosaidheandhispartnerhadnotenteredintoanytransactionssolelyorjointlywithothers這一句，應譯作「某先生說，他和合夥人都沒有各自或一起與他人作任何交易」，還是「某先生說，他和合夥人都沒有各自或與他人一起作任何交易」？
Solelyorjointly或singlyorjointly是常用說法，指「單獨或一起」，例如：（1）Youcan,singlyorjointlywithspouse,signupforthetrainingclass（你可以獨自或和配偶一起報名參加這訓練班）。（2）Thesemethodsmaybeapplied,solelyorjointly,tosolvetheproblems（這些方法可以單獨或一起使用，解決問題）。
讀者說的那一句，那withothers文法上是接transactions還是jointly？接transactions，則第一個譯法正確；接jointly，則第二個正確。看句子結構，solely是指heandhispartner，jointly應該同樣是指heandhispartner，而不是兼指heandhispartner以及others。所以，我會取第一個譯法，即在句子的solelyorjointly前後加上逗點。
