那either不可改為neither。要表達「也」的意思，英文否定句常用「not+either」或「neither/nor」。假如用neither/nor，句子就須用倒裝法（inversion），即動詞須置於主詞（subject）之前。以下兩句意思相同，但請留意不同的句式：（1）Hedidnotexpectanythingtogowrong,andhedidnotseeanythinghavinggonewrong,either。（2）Hedidnotexpectanythingtogowrong,andneither/nordidheseeanythinghavinggonewrong（他認為不會有什麼事情出錯，也未見有什麼事情出錯）。
