說機會有多大，opportunity和chance應配much還是many？
Opportunity和chance都可譯作「機會」，也都既是可數（countable）也是不可數（uncountable）名詞，作不可數名詞，指一件事有多大機會實現，應配much；作可數名詞。指有多少次機會，應配many，例如：（1）Hehasnotmuchchanceofpassingtheexamination（他考試及格的機會不大），（2）Thetripprovidedmanyopportunitiesforustoexperiencethelocalcustoms（旅程上，我們有不少機會體味當地的習俗）。
Thereisalmostanuniversaltendency,perhapsaninborntendency,tosuspectthegoodfaithofamanwhoholdsopinionsthatdifferfromourown這一句，goodfaith譯作「優良信仰」好，還是「背後動機」好？
Goodfaith二字該怎樣翻譯，我沒看過上下文，不敢斷定。但一般而言，goodfaith指「信實」，和badfaith（欺詐）相對，這兩個詞常用in字帶出，例如：（1）TheChinesecommunistregime'spromisetoallowHongKonguniversalsuffragewasmadeinbadfaith:theyobviouslyhadnointentiontohonourit（中共政權答應容許香港普選，只是欺人之談：他們明顯無意履行諾言）。（2）Thewitnessgaveanaccountofthematterin(all)goodfaith（證人誠誠實實陳述事情的經過）。
