【附注】Howdaresomeone（某人怎敢）這說法，常用來表示不滿或憤怒。說現在，那dare一字即使以he、she、it作主詞（subject），也不可改為dares；說過去，則可改為dared，例如：（1）Howdarehesaysuchthingsaboutme!（他怎敢這樣說我！）（2）Howdaredshedeclarethatallteacherswerestupid!（她怎敢聲言所有教師都很蠢！）
