Warnerpromptlyvisitedthestudio'spaintshopandorderedtheerectionofanenormoussignontheroofofasoundstage:atwenty-footarrowpointingtoBurbankbearingthewords"Lockheed-that-away".
一九四一年十二月日本偷襲珍珠港之後，加州不少人擔心日本轟炸機或會攻擊內陸。當局實施燈火管制，同時舉行防空演習，做好準備。洛杉磯有些人非常憂慮，包括華納兄弟影業公司老闆傑克．華納。他知道，位在伯班克的洛克西德飛機製造廠毫無疑問是個重要轟炸目標，而飛機製造廠離他的影業公司不過幾個街區。有一天，有人說日本轟炸機在空中未必能夠清楚分辨目標，令華納非常害怕。
他馬上走到電影公司油漆部，叫工人在一個有聲電影拍攝棚頂部豎立巨型標誌：那是個箭狀標誌，長二十英尺，指向伯班克，上面寫着「洛克西德──朝那邊走」。
【附注】That-away也作thataway，是美國俚語，意思等於thatway（「如指示」、「往那邊」），中間的a沒有意思。
