AstheFinalSolutiongainedmomentumelsewhereinEurope,thousandsofDanishcitizensmobilisedonenightin1943andferriedthecountry'sentireJewishpopulationacrosstheSoundtosafety.
希特勒佔領丹麥後不久，下令所有丹麥猶太人佩戴黃色大衞星臂章。但他的計劃被見義勇為同情心重的丹麥人破壞了。命令發出後不過幾小時，丹麥人不論信奉的是什麼宗教，都紛紛戴上那星章，其中最顯要的人物是國王克里斯蒂安十世。他每天騎馬巡行首都，傲然展示臂上星章，聲言「我是我國第一個猶太人」。
「徹底解決猶太人」運動在歐洲其他地方次第展開。一九四三年一個晚上，數以千計丹麥人出動，用渡船把丹麥所有猶太裔人送過松得海峽，脫離險境。
【附注】StarofDaivd又稱ShieldofDavid（大衞之盾），由兩個等邊三角形交疊而成六角星狀，一八九七年成為猶太復國運動象徵，二次大戰時，納粹黨規定猶太人必須佩戴，以示羞辱。今天的以色列國旗就有一顆大衞星。FinalSolution則是納粹黨族滅猶太人的政策。
