英文老師給我們的作文題目是Allthetimeintheworld，那是什麼意思？
Allthetimeintheworld是成語，常用在動詞have之後，但也可以和其他動詞連用，意思是「很多時間」，例如：（1）Thereisnoneedtohurry.Wehave(got)allthetimeintheworld（不必匆忙，我們有很多時間）。（2）Heseemstobetakingallthetimeintheworldtoreadtheslimbook（那只是薄薄一本書，他卻似乎要花很多時間看）。占士邦電影有一首膾炙人口的主題曲，叫做"AlltheTimeintheWorld"，就是取這句成語。
讀書有時看到Thegovernorencouragedcitizenstospendmoneyonboostingtheeconomy（總督鼓勵市民花錢刺激經濟）、Ihavespentyearswritingthebook（我花了多年寫這本書）之類句子。Spend和spendon有什麼分別？
Spendon之後一般用人、物等名詞，此外還有spendin的說法，其後多用ing形式動詞或表示動作的名詞，ing形式動詞前的in往往略去，例如：（1）Iwon'tspendasinglecentonhim（我不會在他身上花一文錢）。（2）Ihavespentyears(in)writingthebook。
讀者也許會問：然則tospendmoneyonboostingtheeconomy是不是應改為inboosting？答案是on、in其實都可以用，但on強調錢是用在「刺激經濟」這件事之上，in則強調錢是用在「刺激經濟」的過程之中。Spend之後用in或on都可以的情況不少，這裏再舉一例：Don'tspendtoomuchtimeon/inthejob（不要花太多時間做這工作）。
