月前香港有埃及旅行團遭遇交通事故，金怡假期協助有線電視採訪，事後刊登電視台致謝公函作宣傳。但該函英文似有錯誤，謹附上請先生評論。
那封公函幾乎沒有一句沒有錯，這裏只摘錄三句。ItwasindeedatragedythatsomanyHongKongholidaymakersdiedorinjured（度假港人死者傷者甚多，令人悲痛）一語，injured之前應加were一字。Die是不及物動詞（intransitiveverb），injured是及物動詞（transitiveverb），用法不同，一不可有受詞（object），一無受詞不可。所以英文可以說Theydied，卻不可說Theyinjured，須說Itinjuredthem/Theywereinjured之類。
WewerethefirstcrewstoarriveHurghada（我們是第一隊到達古爾代蓋的工作人員）一語也不妥當。Crew是「一隊工作人員」，人員多少都不用加s，例如：Theshiphadacrewof10/50（船上有十名/五十名水手）。不止一隊的工作人員，才說crews。又arrive是不及物動詞，須用介系詞（preposition）帶出受詞：WewerethefirstcrewtoarriveinHurghada。
Beingadedicatednewschannel,itisourdutytobeonthespotassoonaspossibleandfilestoriesbacktoourviewersintheearliestpossiblemanner這一句，更不能只改一兩個字，必須全句改寫：Adedicatednewschannel,wehadthedutytobeonthesceneandgetthestoryontheairassoonaspossible（我們是盡責的新聞電視台，必須盡快到達現場，向觀眾報道）。
