AlliedflyersandescapedPOWsfollowedmanyunusualpathstosafetyfromoccupiedEuropeintheSecondWorldWar.InParisoneescapenetworkoperatedthroughabrothelinMontmatre,towhichtheescapeeswouldbetakenanddisguisedascustomersintheeventofaraidbytheGestapo.OneparticularEnglishpilotwassoembarrassedatbeingtakentherethatwordofhisoddbehaviourreachedtheearsofaninformer.AmemberoftheGestapovisitedthebrothelthenextdayintheguiseofanordinaryclient,butfortunatelythemanageresssawthroughhiscover.IntheeventofafullGestaporaidsherealisedthattheyoungpilotwouldbetooembarrassedtoplaythepartofaclientandsodressedhimasaprostituteinstead.
第二次世界大戰期間，盟軍飛行員以及逃亡戰俘循千奇百怪途徑，逃離德軍佔領的歐洲。巴黎一個逃亡組織藉蒙馬特里市一所妓院運作，把逃亡者送到院中，遇上蓋世太保前來搜查，就叫逃亡者扮嫖客。一名英國飛行員送來之後，尷尬不安，以至舉止異常，消息傳到告密者耳中。第二天，一個蓋世太保扮成普通嫖客來到妓院，幸而鴇母看穿了他的身份。鴇母知道，假如蓋世太保大舉前來搜查，那年輕飛行員太過侷促，不可能扮嫖客，於是要他改而扮妓女。
