Everyoneofyouis/arerequiredtogo（你們人人都要去）這一句，動詞應用is還是are？
You當然應配are，但這一句的主詞（subject）是everyone，所以動詞須用is。這裏且舉個類似的例子：Whicheverofyouknowstheanswer,pleasetellme（各位有誰知道答案，請告訴我）。
Wecouldn'tpayashighaprice/asahighpriceasthetaxidriverasked（計程車司機要那麼高的價錢，我們不能支付）、Ourcityistentimesaslarge/astentimeslargeasitwasbefore（我們城市的面積，是以前十倍）這兩句，哪個選擇才對？有固定法則可循嗎？
第一句應說ashighaprice，第二句則應說tentimesaslarge。
要說「多少倍」，二以上的數字會用「times+as形容詞（as）」句式，那as不可置於times之前，例如：Hiswatchisthreetimes/twiceasexpensiveasmine（他的手錶比我那隻貴兩倍）。
As和too、so、quite、such等一樣，是說程度的副詞（adverbofdegree），但as、too、so之後習慣用「形容詞+a/an」，quite、such之後則習慣用「a/an+形容詞」，例如：（1）Heisjustasstrongaman（他同樣十分強壯）。（2）Itistoogoodanopportunitytobemissed（這樣好的機會不可錯過）。（3）Idon'tlikesogreedyawoman（我不喜歡這樣貪婪的女人）。（4）Thereisstillquitealongwaytogo（還有很長一段路要走）。（5）Nobodycanstandsuchaseveretrial（誰都不能忍受這樣嚴酷的考驗）。
