日本H-2A火箭周六在鹿兒島縣的種子島太空中心發射升空，載着一枚4.6噸的人造衞星，是日本歷來發射的最重一枚人造衞星，將會用作控制航空交通，處理亞太區日益繁忙的民航機飛行，以及為一枚現時使用中的氣象衞星作後備。
