有報刊評論英國奪得二○一二年奧運主辦權，說Pariswasconsideredbymanytobeashoo-in，又說London'ssuccessfulpitchfortheGamesleavestheFrenchflounderinginOlympicrealpolitik。Realpolitik和shoo-in是什麼意思？
Realpolitik本是德文，real即practical，politik即politics，指不講道義的現實政治；shoo-in則是美國俚語，指公認必勝的競爭者或候選人，例如：(1)Inaclassicpieceofrealpolitik,theFrenchgovernmentismorethanhappytooverlookmainlandChina'spoorhumanrightsrecordaslongasPekingofferstheFrenchlucrativetradeopportunites（只要北京給予法國利潤豐厚的貿易機會，法國政府就絕對樂意無視中國大陸的惡劣人權紀錄，那是典型的現實政治）。(2)Hewasashoo-intowinthepresidentialelectionaftertheexposureofhisopponent'scorruptpractices（他對手的貪污行徑揭發之後，一般人都認為他可獲選）。
