雅斯沙．海費茲是個神童，初次登臺演奏小提琴的時候還是個小孩子，光芒四射。聽眾席上坐在一起的有米沙．埃爾曼和阿圖爾．魯賓斯坦。埃爾曼當時已是著名小提琴家，魯賓斯坦則是鋼琴家。
海費茲小提琴獨奏有如鈞天廣樂。埃爾曼顯得如坐針氈，越來越不舒服，終於側身向魯賓斯坦說：「這裏不是熱得要命嗎？」
魯賓斯坦泰然回答：「對鋼琴手來說，不是。」
【解說】海費茲（1901-1987）生於俄國，十二歲開始周遊列國，演奏小提琴。埃爾曼（1891-1967）生於烏克蘭，魯賓斯坦（1887-1982）生於波蘭。三人都入了美國籍。
