Comparewith和compareto有甚麼分別？
嚴格而言，compareAtoB是「以此類彼」的意思，compareAwithB或compareAandB則有「比較兩者異同或優劣」的意思。例如：（1）Theparksofacityareoftencomparedtothelungsofaman（城市的公園，常常比喻作人的肺部）。（2）Youcannotcomparecannedmusicwith/andlivemusic（唱片的音樂，不能和現場演奏的音樂相比）。
不過，今天不少人把compareto當作comparewith的同義詞，例如說Youcannotcomparecannedmusictolivemusic等，約定俗成，也不算是錯誤。至於「以此類彼」的compareto，則極少用comparewith取代。
此外，過去分詞（pastparticiple）compared常獨立於主要子句（mainclause）之外，其後接with、to都同樣常見，意思沒有分別，例如：（1）Comparedwith/tohim,Iamanabsolutenovice（和他相比，我簡直是初出茅廬）。（2）Comparedwith/toourhouse,theirsistheembodimentofluxury（和我們的房子相比，他們的豪華極了）。
Kindregards這說法，有沒有「上級對下級」意味？寫信給尊長或上司，也可以說Kindregards嗎？
（With）Best/Kind/Kindestregards只是「謹此致意」的意思，沒有尊卑之分。公函之後加上這問候語，雖然千篇一律，但多少表達了點人情味。Bestregards等一般寫在Yourssincerely之前，但也有人以Bestregards取代Yourssincerely，直接在其後簽名。
