上面那段英文有兩個字值得談談：protest和damages。Protest常解作「抗議」，但也可解作「聲明」，例如：Heprotestedhisinnocence/Heprotestedthathewasinnocent（他力言自己是無辜的）。Damages指法律上的賠償，習慣用複數形式，切勿說damage，例如：Hehadtopay$100,000indamages（他須賠償十萬元）。
